PLAYER FIELD FINALIZED FOR ORIOLES CHALLENGE MATCH
JERRY HAIRSTON TO JOIN BRADY ANDERSON IN TENNIS CHALLENGE

Baltimore, December 7 - Baltimore Orioles star, Jerry Hairston, has stepped up to the plate to face off with Brady Anderson in this year's Orioles Challenge Match. The match is one of the highlights of the 2001 Chevy Chase Bank Tennis Challenge presented by The Baltimore Sun to be held at the Baltimore Arena on Wednesday, December 12 at 7 PM. .

Brady Anderson and his challenger, Jerry Hairston, will showcase their tennis talents, teaming with American tennis superstars, Andre Agassi and Andy Roddick in an electrified, mixed doubles Orioles Challenge Match. Hairston will attempt to swipe Anderson's, seventh-straight Orioles Challenge title in the evening's final event.

The Tennis Challenge welcomes back 1998 Wimbledon champion, Jana Novotna who appeared as a Tennis Challenge Feature player that same year. She headlines an all-star cast of tennis legends that is the preliminary to the Agassi vs. Roddick showdown. Novotna is joined by 1988 Olympic Doubles Gold Medallist (w/Shriver), Zina Garrison former worldıs No. 1 doubles player and Davis Cup hero Richey Reneberg plus the gritty ex-ATP and current Champion Tour superstar Tim Wilkison.

Hairston began playing for the Orioles on August 11, 2000, homering in his first major league at-bat of the season. He earned a starting position at second base for the final 49 games of the season. Hairston was named the International League's Best Defensive Second Baseman by Baseball America for the second straight year. Hairston and former teammate Brady Anderson, will be coached by Baltimore Ravens players as they go head-to-head in this fan-favored event.

Billed as "An Evening of Star Spangled Tennis," the Tennis Challenge will showcase Andre Agassi and Andy Roddick in the evening's Feature Match. Also on tap for the night is the Salomon Smith Barney Legends Match starring Jana Novotna & Tim Wilkison battling Zina Garrison & Richey Reneberg.

The Chevy Chase Bank Tennis Challenge presented by the Baltimore Sun benefits the Baltimore Community Foundation, a publicly endowed non-profit organization that donates proceeds to area children's charities. Since the event's inception in 1986, over $2.6 million has been distributed to child-related causes.
